“This is it. I’m never gonna wear a fancy dress on a talk
show again. It’s very hard work. I don’t know if you’re aware of the
contraptions under here — it’s almost medical. And I’m terrible in heels
… This is my last time wearing a fancy dress on a talk show and
conforming to gender norms.

The next time you see me, I will be
playing charades in a Slanket.”

maybe it’s a little silly to find oneself so invested in the fates of fictional characters. But consider the last clip of the end credits, in which we see not the characters but the cast members embrace one last time as the show wraps for the final time. It reminds us of something that is tragically underscored by the dedication to Harris Wittels that follows immediately after. Those last moments remind us of the thin line separating the stories we watch from the people who make them. Sure, Pawnee was fictional. But the care and the love that built it never were, and those are what I’ll miss most.

I’m going to miss this damn show so much.

“I always say, "What are we going to do with these cards when I die?” And my daughter, Melissa, said, “Give them to the Smithsonian, they take anything.‘ Anything. And they’re not allowed to sell!”

If these jokes don’t end up in the smithsonian I am going to be very dissapointed. Joan Rivers was a national treasure.

Mr. Ramis, you were a class act all the way. Thanks for all the laughs.

Humor is fundamentally a sense of perspective, and as I’ve grown older I’ve just gone back to the position I had when I was 15 or 16, when I thought most of what was going on was absolutely ridiculous.

The partnership between Comedy Central, a cable cannel owned by Viacom, and Twitter represents the evolving relationship between television and social media. Twitter is often incorporated into programming with viewers using the site as a second screen while watching live television. But slowly, Twitter is becoming an outlet on which to watch video.

Amy Chozick, The New York Times. A Comedy Show That Comes via a Hashtag.

Next week, Comedy Central is hosting a comedy show almost entirely on Twitter, with comedians posting video clips and jokes using the hashtag #ComedyFest. It’s an experiment to get users to watch video directly on Twitter, rather than use Twitter as a second screen while watching TV.

As early as next month, Comedy Central will introduce a free, ad-supported app, called CC: Stand-Up. Designed to look and feel like a cable »

Gorilla Sales Skyrocket After Latest Gorilla Attack

Reports confirmed that gorilla sales have historically risen sharply in the immediate aftermath of a major gorilla attack, most notably after the 2010 tragedy in the small town of Logan, NM, where 14 people, including two 5-year-old children and a 92-year-old woman, were viciously beaten to death by a 12-year-old gorilla who spontaneously attacked patrons of a crowded grocery store.

The Onion is in perfect form here.
